A fantastic experience awaits you - a week in Rome in the shadow of the Roman ruins, the Spanish Steps, St Peters and the Vatican City - the birthplace of Christianity with many other wonders to see and appreciate AND the opportunity to take cooking lessons with Diane Seed, considered by her peers to operate one of the top ten cooking schools in Italy

She has a cooking school in her own home in the beautiful Doria Pamphili Palace in the center of Rome at Piazza Venezia. Her apartment is in the part of the palace used to house guests on the Grand Tour in the early part of the last century, and the cooking school has a round window that looks over Piazza Venezia, down to the Forum and the Colosseum. The back terrace looks over the tiled roof to see the St.Peter's dome.

There are week-long courses, 3 days and short weekend breaks Class sizes range from 6 and are limited to only 12 guests.

Crystal Tours Unlimited is proud to be an official representative for the Diane Seed cculinary program and is glad to assist in obtaining hotel accomodations in both first class and tourist class hotels with breakfast and taxes included. Transfers from the airport or rail terminals and a s/s tours by private car and driver or motorcoach of the Vatican Museum/Sistine Chapel or the Classical Tour of Ancient Rome can arranged.

It is possible to do 1, 2 or 3 days lessons during these dates and sometime other dates can be arranged.

Weekend Courses and Special May Bank Holiday Breaks

Friday night Welcome dinner, Saturday market visit, cooking class and lunch, Sunday cooking class and lunch.
2008 May breaks May 2-5 & May 23-26

Special requests for Incentive Travel, Team Building and special-interest events can be arranged in private houses and restaurants for entertaining, absorbing classes and/or memorable meals

Classes take place Monday, Tuesday Thursday and Friday from 10.30 am to 2.00 pm and Wednesday 6 to 9.30pm so that people can have a free day for the Vatican or another day visit. Lunch will consist of food prepared in class, local specialities and wine

Classes are small, relaxed and informal. You have the choice of hands on or sit and watch. Most people usually do a mixture of both. There's time for questions and discussion during class, and the dishes prepared are from many Italian regions, not just Rome and use fresh produce in season. A balance is kept between food for dinner parties, and interesting quick dishes to prepare for informal meals. It is authentic Italian food, based on good ingredients,not fussy designer food.

Once a week there are usually optional visits to food markets and local speciality shops before class.

Diane Seed Cooking School in Rome, italy. /2008

Cooking classes (5) take place Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday from 1030am to 200pm & Wednesday 6 to 930pm. In addition to meals prepared in class will eaten as lunch or dinner on the appropriate day the welcome dinner is included.
Accommodations are availalbe at tourist and first class hotels close to the cooking school.
We can also arrange airport or rail station transfers to your hotel and sightseeing in your spare time.
Cost for the one week cooking lesson week program is $1,500 p/p **
All other courses are $300** p/p per day

** The one week course is 1000 euros per week and indivudual lessons are 200 euros p.p. each lesson. Rates are converted into US $ at the exhange rate in effect at the time of payment and prices can vary slightly from time to time.
