VENICE WALKING TOUR OF HISTORICAL CENTER - Highlights of major sights in this city of 118 small islands in the marshy Venetian Lagoon along the Adriatic Sea in Northeast Italy.
Departure -
St.Mark's Square in front of the Tourist Information Office. Meet your guide and group no later than 9:00 AM. Tour lasts approximately 2 hours.

Itinerary: Origins and history of the city: St. Mark’s Square, the Basilica, the Ducal Palace, the Prisons and the Bridge of Sighs.

Visit the historical center on foot admiring the wonders of St.Mark’s Square, the symbol and heart of Venice: The golden mosaics of the Basilica and the astonishing Pala D’Oro (the golden altar); then the Ducal Palace walking through historical and legendary halls and the Bridge of Sighs, famous because of the last look that the convicted had as they crossed it before enter the jails.

GONDOLA RIDE -The gondola is a traditional Venetian rowing boat. Gondolas were for centuries the chief means of transportation within Venice and still have a role in public transport, serving as traghetti (ferries) over the Grand Canal. Their primary role, however, is to carry tourists on rides at established prices.
Departure - Departure from Campo Santa Maria del Giglio (near Gritti hotel) depends on time of year; From March 16 to March 31 and November 1 to November 15 departure at 3.30 pm; from April 1 to April 30 and from October 1 to October 31 departure at 7.30 pm and from May 1 to September 30 departure at 7.30 pm and 8.30pm)


If you visit Venice, you will take a gondola ride.Take a romantic gondola trip, accompanied by music and songs, along the Venice canals. Duration approximately
40 minutes. Departure from Campo Santa Maria del Giglio (near Gritti hotel).

EXCURSION TO MURANO, BURANO AND T0RCELLO - Murano an island in the Venetian Lagoon a mile north of Venice and is famous for its glass making, particularly lampworking. Burano, another island in the lagoonand is known for its lacework. Torcello is a quiet sparsely populated island at the northern end of the lagoon. It once held the largest population of the Republic of Venice and the main attraction is the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta, founded in 639 with much eleventh and 12th century Byzantine work, including mosaics with a vivid version of the Last Judgement.
Departure - every afternoon at 215 PM for 3 1/2 hours
from Ponte della Paglia, dock in front of the Hotel Danieli, a block from St marks Square.

Itinerary consists of motor launch ride from Venice in the afteroon by way of the open lagoon to Murano. Visit a glass factory, then on to Burano and Torcello where you will visit two architectural masterpieces closely linked with the life and aspirations of the first lagoon settlers. Approx 3.5 hours.
