BOD/51 – Half Day Bodrum City Tour
Walk from your ship a few minutes into Bodrum, the famous city of Halicarnassus, the metropolis of Caria, and the birth place of
famous ancient historian Herodotus (5th century BC) is also the hometown of the King
Mausoleous, whose tomb “The Mausoleum” was one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient
World (4th century BC).
Early in the 15th century, the Knights of Rhodes built an impressive medieval castle dedicated to St. Peter. The picturesque castle is placed at the Bodrum’s dazzling blue bay, where the Aegean and Mediterranean seas meet. It is a fine example of 15th century crusaders architecture.
The Museum of Underwater Archeology located in the castle displays artifacts dating as far back as the Bronze Age.
Today, Bodrum has gained the reputation of being the center of the Turkish art community with its lively and Bohemian atmosphere and many small galleries.
This famous seaside town is also recognized as the heart of entertainment with excellent restaurants, bars, night clubs and superb discos open until dawn.
Half day tour of Bodrum includes the Bodrum Castle and the Underwater Archaeology Museum (as explained above).
At the end of the tour, free time to wander around Bodrum and enjoy the lively market.
BOD/52 - Full Day Ephesus Tour
Drive to Ephesus, the Roman capital of Asia minor which remains to be the best preserved
ancient city in the world.
During the golden age of the Roman Empire (2nd century AD),
Ephesus was an important commercial and cultural center.
The protector of the city was Artemis, the Goddess
whose temple was one of the “Seven Wonders of the
Ancient World”.
The Ephesians were still worshipping
Artemis, the daughter of Zeus and Leto, and the twin sister of Apollo. She was the Hellenic goddess of forests and hills, child birth/virginity/fertility, the hunt and was often depicted as a huntress carrying a bow and arrows.
When St. Paul came to the city to win converts.
St. John brought Virgin Mary to Ephesus after the death
of Jesus Christ and she lived until the age of 101 in a
small house built for her on Mt. Koressos. Now, popular
place of pilgrimage for Catholics and Muslims, the house
has received the official sanction of the Vatican and a
commemoration ceremony is held every year on August
15th. The third church council in 431 was held in the
Basilica of Virgin Mary in Ephesus.
Today, the majority of the ruins are beautifully restored
and one can visit a complete city including the Arcadian
Way, the Great Theater (for 125,000 people), the Marble Road, the Celsius Library, the
Temple of Hadrian, the Trojan Fountain, and the Gymnasium.

BOD/53 – Full Day Guletting Cruise
Your guide will meet you at your ship and walk you to your "Gullet".
Bodrum is considered as "the sailing paradise and the home of Blue Voyage”.
This idyllic cruising is sailing along the beautiful unspoiled bays and small coves where pine forests reach down to the turquoise sea.
For this unique experience, we use traditional wooden yachts called “Gullet” providing reasonable comfort with friendly service.
Total cruising will be 4 – 5 hours and rest of the day will be spent in the gorgeous coves enjoying the sun and the sea.
Sunbathing on the deck, swimming in the clear waters, diving, wind surfing, water skiing, or just fishing....... before returning to the dock.
Simple lunch will be served on the yacht. |
